Our Social Events

Our Monthly meetings are held on the second Friday of each month at the City Praise Centre (CPC) at The Maltings, 9-11 Lower Higham Road, Gravesend, Kent, DA12 2LY. The meeting starts at 14:00, but please don't arrive before 13:30 as we will still be getting the hall ready.

There is a bus stop right outside the CPC. The four closest parking areas are shown in the slide show below, with red text and red arrows showing where their entrances are. The yellow lines show where to walk in order to enter the CPC via the glass French doors in car park 1. The solid door in car park 2 is only a fire exit, so if you park there you need to walk around the brick building to get to the entrance.

  1. The CPC Base Camp car park with its entrance in Dering Way, opposite Kwik Fit.
  2. The CPC Maltings and Warehouse car park with its entrance in Lower Higham Road, opposite the petrol station.
  3. The North Kent College (NKC) car park with its entrance in Lower Higham Road, opposite the petrol station.
  4. On street parking in Lower Higham Road.

Please car share if you can, to reduce the number of cars that need to be parked and to increase the number of members coming in those cars:

The details about the Guest Speakers that we have booked for our monthly meetings can now be found via the 'MEMBERS LOGIN', which is also available on the 'Members' page of this web site. Just select the 'Calendar of meetings and events' option and find the 'MONTHLY MEETING' on the second Friday of each month. Information about this month's and next month's Guest Speakers can also be found in our Newsletters.

When you sign up for a Social Committee event you join the waiting list for that event. You need to pay by the next monthly meeting in order to confirm your place.

Payments can be made at the Social Committee Payment Tables at our monthly meetings using the following methods:

  1. By credit/debit card via our SumUp terminal, which can print or email you a receipt.
  2. By cheque, which must be made payable to 'Gravesend u3a social account', as the bank will not accept incorrect or modified cheques, we have a stamp with the account name on it.

We will need to use your GN&D u3a Membership Number and the code for the event as a reference, so that we know who has made a payment and what it was for. This will be used when you make a payment via SumUp or written on the back of your cheque.

You can also contact the Event Leader to arrange getting a cheque to them.
