HOW TO JOIN US
If you are an existing Member of our u3a looking to renew your membership, please do so on line using your MEMBERS LOGIN or you can download and print out, or obtain from Sue Kirwan (Our Membership Secretary), the Existing Members Renewal Form, which is also available on our 'Members' page.
The quickest, easiest and cheapest way for a new member to join our u3a is to use the following link to JOIN ONLINE.
Please tick the GIFT AID option, if you are a UK tax payer, as you will still only pay the membership price, but as we are a registered charity (1180160), we will be able to claim an additional 25% of that price back from HMRC (The income tax that you've already paid).
There are three different memberships available:
- Our 'Individual' Membership to the end of 2026 is now only £16.00.
- If you are already a member of another UK u3a then you can become an 'Associate' member of our u3a for just £13.00. Please note that this is only available if you join online and is subject the other u3a confirming that you are a 'Full' member of their u3a.
- There is also an optional national magazine, called 'u3a matters', that you can receive in the post five times a year. To receive this you can become an 'Individual with TAM' member for just £20.00, which covers your membership until the end of 2026, the magazine and its postage. You can find out more information about the 'u3a matters' magazine using this link, which may help you to decide if you'd like to receive it or not.
To join online using a debit/credit card or PayPal account use this JOIN ONLINE link. Please note that you do not need to have a PayPal account to pay by debit/credit card. We just use PayPal as a payment gateway as they have a long and trusted relationship with the banking industry. Just scroll down to the 'Pay by debit/credit card' button, which may be off the bottom of the screen on your device.

All Groups, Activities and Events are undertaken at your own risk.
Monthly meetings – Are held on the 2nd Friday of every month and start at 14:00 at The City Praise Centre (CPC) at the Lion Garage end of Lower Higham Road, DA12 2LY. We have a different guest speaker each month who will give a 45-60 minute presentation and take questions, plus there's free tea/coffee and biscuits afterwards! You'll find more information on 'Events' page of our website. If you have a friend that could be interested in joining us, you could bring them along to see what its all about.
Newsletters – We produce a monthly Newsletter which we Email with details of our current activities and calendar of events together with group contact details to all our members. Some printed newsletters are available at our monthly meetings and you can look at a version with the contact details removed in the Newsletters page of this website.
Gravesend, Northfleet & District u3a - Our History
Formed in 2003 our u3a is one of over 1000 u3a groups in the country spread through our cities, towns and villages and is designed for retired or semi-retired people to provide an opportunity to learn or develop new pastimes, skills, interests and sports, whilst providing the opportunity for socialising with other people with similar interests. Like all u3a's, we are self-financing and run entirely by the members. We encourage all members to join interest groups that attract them and to form new interest groups or duplicate groups when one becomes full.
